Tuple-Based Coordination in Large-Scale Situated Systems

چکیده

Space and time are key elements for many computer-based systems often elevated to first-class abstractions. In tuple-based coordination, Linda primitives have been independently extended with space (with tuples queries spanning spatial regions) or information (mostly tuple scoping). However, recent works in collective adaptive aggregate computing show that can naturally be considered as two intertwined facets of a common coordination abstraction situated distributed systems. Accordingly, we introduce the Spatiotemporal Tuples model, natural adaptation model physically deployed large-scale networks. Unlike prior research, spatiotemporal properties – expressing where when should range has deposited/retrieved turn into specifications processes, carried on cooperation by devices filling computational environment, sustaining operations resilient way, possibly even mobile faulty environments. Additionally, promotes decentralised implementations actually reside they issued, which is good supporting peer-to-peer ad-hoc networks well privacy. this paper, (i) present formalise based unifying notion space-time structure, (ii) provide an implementation ScaFi framework, turning finally (iii) evaluation through simulation rescue case study.

A partition-based algorithm for clustering large-scale software systems

Clustering techniques are used to extract the structure of software for understanding, maintaining, and refactoring. In the literature, most of the proposed approaches for software clustering are divided into hierarchical algorithms and search-based techniques. In the former, clustering is a process of merging (splitting) similar (non-similar) clusters. These techniques suffered from the drawba...

Coordination in Large-Scale Multi-Agent Systems

There exists no official, universally accepted definition of agency within the artificial intelligence community, only perceptions of what an agent ‘should be’ [1]. The most widely cited description of agency is that which Woolridge and Jennings call ‘a weak notion of agency’: a system with properties of autonomy, social ability, reactivity and pro-activity [2]. A multi-agent system is simply o...

Tuple-based Coordination of Stochastic Systems with Uniform Primitives

Complex computational systems – such as pervasive, adaptive, and self-organising ones – typically rely on simple yet expressive coordination mechanisms: this is why coordination models and languages can be exploited as the sources of the essential abstractions and mechanisms to build such systems. While the features of tuple-based models make them well suited for complex system coordination, th...

Market-based Coordination Strategies for Large-scale Multi-Agent Systems

This paper studies market-based mechanisms for dynamic coordinated task assignment in large scale agent systems carrying out search and rescue missions. Specifically, the effect of different auction mechanisms and swapping are studied. The paper describes results from a large number of simulations of homogeneous agents, where by homogeneous we mean that agents in a given simulation use the same...
